 "Brunelleschi in Florence!"
Our stay at the Hotel Brunelleschi was very good, albeit the rooms we had booked (Deluxe double) were a little on the small size, and we did not realise one had to stipulate a bath or shower at time of booking, although I am sure the staff would have changed our rooms had we asked. The hotel is very well presented, with extra touches which I enjoyed, including the chandeliers, the antiqued mirrors and the overall design. If facing the busy street, we found the sound proofing pretty good, and we were never woken by outside, or indeed inside, noise. There was some communication problems: we asked the front desk for milk for our room as we had used up all of our allotted cartons, we were waved away to their restaurant to order room service. The hotel do not provide irons if you need them, so be aware that if you want the housekeeper to iron things for you, it will cost you (quite a bit actually!). We cannot comment on the Hotel's restaurants, there are many eating places in Florence to enjoy, most within walking distance of the hotel. Would we return? Yes, most definitely.

On the first floor of the hotel you will find one of the city’s better restaurants, the "Santa Elisabetta" restaurant, partly hidden in the quiet antique Byzantine tower. The restaurant will fulfill all your desires, such as a romantic intimate dinner, a breakfast meeting, a wedding ceremony or a working lunch. The maitre will give you advice about the a la carte menu, or compose a menu of samples of your preference for your special occasion. The Santa Elisabetta restaurant can also organise a dinner in the tower lounge (the Liberty lounge), or on the roof terrace or a cocktail in the private museum or on the terrace which offers a magnificent view of Florence’s city centre.

The restaurant chef Simone Bertaccini is known as one of the most creative chefs of the new generation, representing the Tuscan cuisine with a touch of his own fantasy. This excellent cuisine, combined with the best Tuscany wines chosen by the sommelier, make your dinner an unforgettable experience. The restaurant is composed of three different areas and can accommodate up to 120 guests.
