Hotel Salerno Milan  

If the Windows are facing the street, it was impossible to sleep because too noisy. There is no closet for coats. The Breakfast is good. Clean the room every day, even change the towels. The hotel was on solid 2*, not more. But for 2* is too expensive.

As we had tickets for the F1 at Monza on Saturday and Sunday, we were looking for a hotel convenient to the Central Station in Milan and which was not too expensive. The Salerno fell into that criteria. As the hotel is rated as two star we were a bit apprehensive, however, we were very pleasantly surprised. On arrival, we were met by a lovely young man whose english was excellent. We asked if we could leave our luggage at the hotel as it was too early to book into our room. This was no problem we also asked if we could store certain food items in the hotel fridge and again absolutely no problem. When we returned to the hotel in the evening, our luggage was in our room. The room was small but quite adequate and very clean. The en suite bathroom was also very clean. The room was on the ground floor looking out onto the main road, however, the windows and shutters kept most of the traffic noise out. The air conditioning was very efficient. The breakfast was served outside in a lovely courtyard and we were offered fresh fruit juice, coffee , tea , cereal, croissant, rolls and various fillings. All in all very nice and quite adequate. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a short stay - it is conveniently situated for the main shopping and other sights of Milan.
