Pros: Super lage - mit vielen busverbindungen von der innenstadt erreichbar. guter preis. nettes personal. unkompliziert und durchaus, für den preis, empfehlenswert für leute, die wirklich nur eine Übernachtungsmöglichkeit suchen. da ist manches hostel schlechter & teurer.
Contras: Das portobello entspricht jetzt nicht dem absoluten nobel-hotel-standard, aber das darf man bei dem preis (sehr niedrig, dafür, dass es sehr gut liegt) auch nicht erwarten. im bad war das abflußrohr nicht verkleidet, das waschbecken war nicht wirklich gut montiert. das frühstücksbüffet war ausreichend, aber eben nicht grandios. liegt direkt an einer verkehrsader & die fenster sind nicht die besten, wodurch es einerseits kalt hereinzieht und man zweitens noch den verkehr abends hört. aber das sind wirklich nur kleinigkeiten.

Pros: We stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay, we found the staff freindly and helpful, our room was very clean,the bed and towels were changed daily, and the breakfast was great.
Cons: The parking outside the hotel is pay and display, and cost 2.4 euros an hour, between 8am and 6 pm,we found this got a bit exspensive.

Pros: Have been to portobello hotel several times - the staff and services are excellent. was very pleased this time as we actually for the first time had a room overlooking the canal which was very nice - will certainly return again when we have to come to dublin.

Pros: The hotel was good for what you pay for and the price included a nice breakfast. our room was big and on the third floor and fit myself and two others comfortably. the beds were nice and up to date.
Cons: The bathroom could have been in a bit better condition, it always looked a little dirty and the shower curtain was a nightmare. we were on the third floor so we could never hear the music coming from the club, but i can imagine that the first floor guests were very unhappy.

Pros: I went to the portobello with my girlfriend for a romantic trip away and we very much enjoyed our stay, we found the staff to be very polite, the breakfast was good, the room was big and had a good view and was much better than expected, and the distance into town was about 15 minutes which was a fairly pleasant walk. i would definitely recommend it.

Pros: We had a great stay at the portebello. receptionist was very friendly and helpful. there was a room discount at the time so it was very good value for our money. the room was roomy enough for us and the beds were quite comfortable. we had a nice bath and tub. the room also included a hot breakfast.
Cons: Although some attractions are still within walking distance to the hotel, it is a bit far from the main sites. we had to take a cab at night but it wasn't too expensive.
