Pros: Family run and always someone around to help. within walking distance of pretty much all the sights and walking distance of train station. additionaly metro stop just outside. plenty of restaurants close by.

Pros: We stayed at a number of hotels in italy and none of them beat this for value for money. it was spotlessly clean - my boyfriend suffers from dust allergies but the room didn't even raise a snuffle, the bed, although it was two singles pushed together, we didn't even realise until the second day and we slept like babies, we loved breakfast in bed at no extra charge, and they were incredibly accommodating as we kept changing the time that we wanted it over and over, and they always met our demands with a smile. we're very light sleepers, had a room overlooking the courtyard, and were not disturbed by any noise at all. you can hear the other people staying opening and closing a door every now and again, but it's pretty much silent otherwise.
Cons: The shower was small, but spotless and did the job. otherwise, our stay here was perfect.

Pros: Lovely and very central location which faces onto piazza vittorio emmanuelle, the largest in rome -- which is really a small rectangular park that occupies the center of a pretty busy roadway. street noise was not a problem at all, even though we had a big window looking out on the lovely park. hotel staff -- really just a three-person family -- were very attentive, helpful and friendly -- they went out of their way to make sure we had breakfast even with a 5:30 a.m. departure for airport. nice big rooms, that were immaculate. modest pastries and coffee/cappucino breakfast was nicely done and tasty. right next to metro line in what felt like a very lively and safe area.

Cons: Didnt have any complaints about the maikol, it was a fantastic stay. one suggestion would be a luggage storage room, the staff were happy for us to leave our luggage in the hotel corridor but it wasnt locked away, which would have put our minds at ease whilst we were out for the day after checkout.

Pros: Great staff, nice and clean room, near the metro station and close to termini and to city's attractions.
Cons: You will hear from your room when your neighbor is taking the shower, flashing the toilet, when door bell rings and the owner speaks with the guests. anyhow, i didn't have problem with sleeping - rome is so nice that you'll walk a lot and switch off in the bed just in a moment

Pros: Best thing to say about maikol is location!! only a stone throw to metro which helps our lives in rome much more easier to go around. the room is quite spacious and very clean. staff is always there to help and give us all useful information. brilliant!!
Cons: Yes i said it's very close to metro station but there are many exits and it was very confused at first plus hotel sign is extremely small.
