Being one of the premiere fashion centres and tourist destinations in the whole world, you can expect to find a lot of amazing things and places in Paris. One of these is the Avenue des Champs-Elysees, the visiting of which is always among the activities in Paris that come to mind when somebody mentions the capital city of France. The avenue was created by Louis XIV's gardener, Andre Le Notre, in 1667, as an improvement of the view from the Tuileries garden.
It was not until the 18th century though that the Avenue des Champs-Elysees was lengthened considerably until it ran from the place de la Concorde to the Arc de Triomphe. The avenue now has a length of two kilometres and is bordered by trees. The Champs-Elysees has easily become the center for official parades and festivities in Paris, drawing in not only local night strollers but tourists as well. Because it is set between a number of restaurants, cafes and cinemas, stopping by and taking a walk are among the activities in Paris you'd want to do in this chic neighborhood., with its banks, embassies and designer boutiques.
