Hotel Bragança Coimbra  

Cons: The hotel staff was rude and three individuals working there speak no english at all (not a requirement but very hard to communicate with). they attempted to double charge me, and also lied about being fully booked when there were obviously 50 keys to non-used rooms on the wall behind the front desk clerk. horrible customer service. the tv had no sound.

Pros: The position is sensational particularly if coming into coimbra a train station from porto/aveiro on suburban lines. from lisboa or bus estacion its coimbra b, still an easy eu4-5 taxi ride. there is also a bus. braganca is right beside station a, 150 metre walk, unmissable, so central, yet quiet, neat, clean, pleasant - with a very good breakfast service. staff will get you anything you need. everything as youd expect of any decent budget hotel.
Cons: Pillows ..... flat. but was given a second pillow and that did the job.

Pros: Just next to the station. the location is perfect as to take the next train to coimbra b
they also got elevator :)
Cons: The single room is rather tiny, but it's ok as it's comfortable with ac and tv

Pros: This hotel is old and i suspect that they do what they can with the resources they have. the rooms were clean. if you're one who needs modern decor, then do not stay there. the furniture is very old-fashioned. but i care about cleanliness and that i found to be present. no hairdryers or irons - keep that in mind. in a nutshell, i am used to us hotels and by comparison this hotel was very poor. but again it fit well my need for a night in a clean room with access to a clean hot shower and a pleasant breakfast included in the price, in the heart of coimbra. it was a hotel for the pragmatic penny pinchers and those alone.
Cons: In my nieces' room there was one of those little millipedes that feed on humid areas... they were very grossed out by that. since i have trouble with those things in my nice house in east texas... i can't throw any stones. but the hotel should be encouraged to watch for signs of humidity in their rooms and control those millipedes. millipedes are just a sign that you have humidity out of control in areas of your house.
