      Trinidad and Tobago Details

The Republic of Trinidad and Tobago is famous for its West Indian Carnival and pans. It is the birthplace of calypso and soca. The two islands of Trinidad and Tobago are just off the coast of South America and form part of the Lesser Antilles. Two separate entities, they work as one when it comes to celebrating. Arrange to arrive in the season of Carnival. Come take part in the grand event. Visit the steel pans in the panyards at Port of Spain just prior the parade. Besides Carnival, there are many things to do both in Trinidad and Tobago. In Tobago, make for Pigeon Point with its shallow reefs and pristine sand. At Pirates Point, you may perhaps find one of the best beaches on the island. Tobago is also home to the Grafton Caledonia Bird Sanctuary. In Trinidad, be sure to make time to see Waterloo Temple. This octagonal Hindu Temple rises out of the water on a pier. IT is also worth spending a day at the beach. You can hike or boat to Paria with its smooth, golden sand, or stroll on over to Maracas Bay. At Maracas, you can look up at the jungle as it twines itself around the peaks.
