The Acro Hotel is a unique hotel, situated in one of the most beautiful residential areas of Amsterdam. Despite its charming, peaceful surroundings, it is only a stone's throw from the lively cultural centre of Amsterdam.
The Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum are all only a few yards from the hotel. Around the corner you will find the prestigious PC Hooft shopping street with its designer shops and other shopping streets are just a few minutes walking distance from the hotel. The Vondelpark, Amsterdam's green heart, and the well known Leidseplein entertainment district, with the Holland Casino, are in the immediate vicinity. Hotel Acro is surrounded by the prestigious "P.C. Hooftstraat" shoppingstreet with it's designer shops, markets, small shops, bars, restaurants and the world-famous Vondelpark.
And ofcourse the world-famous museums such as the "Rijksmuseum" and the "Van Gogh museum" on the Museumplein as well as the Concertgebouw (Concert building) are around the corner.
This part of Amsterdam offers a lot of possibilities, for example the Holland casino and the Leidseplein nightlife district with it's many bars & restaurants, all within less than 5 minutes walking from the hotel. At 10 minutes walking distance you'll find the Albert Cuyp open air market.
How to reach the hotel?How to reach Acro Hotel:
1) from the Schiphol airport:
By taxi: When taking a taxi, don’t pay more than approximately 35 Euros (most expensive). The trip will take about 20 minutes. The hotel can arrange a taxi for 40 Euros, waiting for you at the Airport's meetingpoint. Please let the hotel know if you want them to arrange it.
By Shuttle bus: A shuttle bus runs straight to the hotel (12 Euro per person) and the trip takes about 30 minutes. For additional information please check: www.Schipholhotelshuttle.NL
By train: Take the train to station 'Zuid WTC' and from there take tram 5, direction central station. Get off at tram stop 'Hobbemastraat' (which is behind the 'Rijksmuseum') and from there it is a a 1-minute walk to the hotel. This is the cheapest option to reach the hotel and the trip takes about 45 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.
You can also take the train to Central Station and from there take a tram to the hotel as described below.
2) From Central Station:
By tram: You can take tram 2 or 5 from the square in front of Central Station to tram stop 'Hobbemastraat'. From there you can walk to the hotel in +/- 1 min. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

The hotel was very close to the rijk and the van gogh meusuem. it was also just 8 minutes walk to the liedesplein.The rooms were cramped with no space left to walk after putting down our 1 suitcase!! the lift did not work twice during our visit and the stairs were really steep and small. it requires very good balance and attention to maneuver the stairs and climbing up and down the stairs with luggage is impossible. the lift, when worked was also a scary one as it did not have any door and you could easily get hurt by the moving wall against the lift!!Alan Hood

We found the hotel staff very friendly and helpful. the hotel was very clean, the only drawback we found was that it is really not suitable for the aged despite a lift. the room was small but as the weather was fine that was not a problem.Anonymous

We found the location very good, very close to a terrific tram service and also the canal boatsThe room was very poor - the double bed was against the wall with a huge pillar at the bottom so it was impossible for one to get out during the night without climbing over the other and waking them. there was only an open wardrobe (no doors) and no drawers at all in the bedroom. the breakfast was poor and very limited. considering it was £100 a night it was very bad value for money.Hana Taborsky

Booking on line was without any problem with confirmation sent promptly. reception staff were polite and helpful. room was clean and fresh and had all facilities we needed including clean linen, towels, etc. lift was always in working order. breakfast room also clean and fresh and there was a varied choice of food and drink. hotel close to the efficient tram system enabling us to quickly reach all parts of the city quickly. we both had a positive experience at the acro hotel in amsterdam. thank you.No negative aspectsPaul J Martin

I arrived early before normal checkin time and was offered complimentary breakfast. Hotel converted my bill from eur to cad without first telling me and charged a higher exchange rate than mastercard would have. this is an unnecessary rippoff of their guests and will keep me from booking this hotel again. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the acro hotel. the staff was friendly and helpful. we had a triple room.. though small by western standards, it was quite comfortable. would definitely stay again.Couldn't make direct calls from our room phone, needed to call the front desk, give them the number, and ask them to dial out. only a minor inconvenience.
