Description
Armada Canal Hotel has recently been renovated and is located on one of the most beautiful canals in the heart of the Amsterdam city centre near Rembrandt square. The excellent position regarding the Rembrandt square makes this a suitable starting point for your visit to the sparkling city of Amsterdam. Numerous museums, such as the Stedelijk Museum, Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum are easy to reach.
The vibrant Muntplein, Rembrandtplein and the flower market are all within walking distance. A pleasant stroll will take you to the lively Leidseplein but the tranquil Vondel Park is worth a visit as well. During the summer you can enjoy open-air concerts in the park or have a refreshing drink at the café in the middle of the park.
Situated in a historical building, the small-scale hotel with helpful receptionists and a relaxed atmosphere, offers comfortable rooms in a warm and intimate environment. All of the rooms are equipped with television, hairdryer, alarm clock and phone. Some of the rooms overlook the beautiful Keizersgracht and smoking is allowed in all the rooms.

How to reach the hotel?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You take tram 4 and go out at 5th stop: "Keizersgracht".

Great location, not too close to the red light district but close enough to walk it. very close to rembrant sq to great for weekend stays if you are going clubbing. about 4 or 5 stops by tram (no.4) from central station. the man on reception was really helpful and couldn't have done more. we booked a twin as it was a little cheaper but he knew we wanted a double so moved us to the double the next morning with a canal view (try and get canal view) and he didn't charge us any extra. not sure why people say it's noisy?? maybe a bit of rush hour traffic, but we slept with the window open and it really wasn't that noisy.
overall, definte value for money. we will stay again.Anonymous

Great location near all the major tourist spots. the room we got on the ground floor was "canal" view which hardly shows the canal but it was next to a busy street so there were lots of people passing by. the window in our room had no lock on it so we made sure to keep it shut and the curtains closed. very nice cafe on the corner that serves breakfast. the breakfast in the morning was decent the one time i was awake to try it out. they had ham, cheese, bread, hardboiled eggs, and jams and butters of sorts. I would spend the time and pay a little more and find a place that's more comfortable. the guy who ran the desk during the night was very very rude to us. if you're planning to have people over during the night i would suggest picking a different hotel because the guy didn't let us bring guests into the hotel past 11 which was very lame. the room was barely big enough for a twin bed and the bathroom was tiny as well. but at least it was clean.Anonymous

We arrived in the middle of an altercation between some guests and the receptionist, however she placated us by indicating the free tea and coffee while we waited. breakfast was excellent as was the location.The receptionist who worked late was useless. on our return on our 1st night it came to pass he had given our room key to someone else and then doubted that it was our room! so we spent the night worrying someone would come crasing in! the towels had seen better days too.Anonymous
