The new 3-star Blue Tower Hotel (opened in June 2007) is situated at the edge of the centre of Amsterdam. With its next door parking garage, together with the easy accessibility both by car and public transport, it is the perfect hotel to stay to discover Amsterdam and surroundings. The historical centre of Amsterdam, the Congress centre Rai, Schiphol Airport, train station and business parks Sloterdijk, Zuid-As and WTC are all reachable within 10 minutes by car or 15 minutes by direct bus, tram or train.

The Blue Tower hotel is located at the edge of the centre of Amsterdam in Bos en Lommer, next to the exit S104 of the highway A10.
How to reach the hotel?From Schiphol Airport: You can take a train to 'Sloterdijk' train station. From there you take bus number 82 direction 'Amsterdam'. Get off at bus stop 'Bos en Lommerplein'. The hotel is situated in the high blue building at the back of the square. For further instructions please see *.
Travel time is approximately 30 minutes and the costs are approximately 5 Euros.
From Amsterdam Central Station: Take bus number 21 direction 'Geuzenveld' or bus number 15 direction 'Muiderpoort station'. Get off at busstop 'Bos en Lommerplein'. The hotel is situated in the high blue building at the back of the square. For further instructions please see *.
Travel time is approximately 20 minutes and the costs are approximately 2.40 Euros.
*When you get off the bus you cross the street in the direction of a square that is situated between high buildings. This is 'Bos en Lommerplein'. Walk to this square and in the sky line you’ll see a high blue building which is the Blue Tower Hotel. You will need to cross the square (There might be a market on the square, in this case follow the clear path right in the middle of the stands.) When you cross this square you will see a passage with a large green sign above the entry. Go through this passage and turn right behind the bars. You’ll find the entrance of the hotel at your right hand side.

The location of this hotel wasn't what i thought after visting the website. i was a bit disappointed!! this blue bulding is quite ugly. as soon as you get into your room is getting better though.....Anonymous

Good place to stay, slightly further out of town, but we took the 21 bus right to bos en lommerplein and it was right there. if you don't mind staying outside the city it was a nice place to stay. nice clean room though, with private bathroom, and enough room for 3 people.Nothing super fancy about it. it is a hike from the city though. ask the tourist desk how exactly to get there. no breakfast, and it was expensive at the hotel. We found the hotel to be excellent... the staff was very friendly and helpful... the room was great, clean, nice view and comfortable! as well the location was great! not far from the airport and only 10min and 1 tram from the dam! there was also a nice market set up in the square right behind the hotel selling fruits veggies meat snacks and cheap clothing. we will stay here again on our next visit to amsterdam!FLANAGAN

The only problem we had while staying at the hotel was that some of the staff at the front desk seemed a bit uninformed. it is very possible that they were new and simply inexperienced. it wasn't a huge issue and i would stay there again. Miss Emma Mc Guile

I went with two other females & we found the room a good size, the deco was fab especially the shower & bath that was a bonus.
the staff were very welcoming, friendly & helpful.For me it was the beds, it was too soft thou very nice to sit but i needed a firm mattress because of my back-have a

It's easy to get into amsterdam city by tram (7, 14 or 21)but be careful to get the right 'travelcard' or you could be paying alot more than you need to. if you want to be in the middle of the action 24/7 this is not the best location. it's nice to see another side of amsterdam but next time i will book a hotel in the centre of amterdam even if it costs a little extra.Rooms a bit of a let down. not as nice as they look in the pictures, windows also do not open which is a real let down. also, there is an office directly opposite so if you have a room on that side (which i did) you have to keep your curtains closed.Michael Thompson

Very good value for money, in my opinion. my room was roomy enough and very quiet, on the ninth floor. desk staff helpful and friendly. i walked in around 13:00, and they let me check into my room. that was appreciated, after a long travel day. great shower fixture in my room also. wireless internet worked well for me in my room. The staff were very friendly. the rooms were also of a good size and very clean.Quite far from the dam square and all the other main places you'd like to visit, but trams are easy and cheap if you know which one to take. taxis between 4 would also make it easier.
