Description
Funky Chickin is located in the heart of Amsterdam, just a 10 minute walk from Central station and a 3 minutes walk to Dam Square. Very smoker-friendly!
Each fully furnished studio apartment comes with a double bed (sleeps 2 together) and 2 single beds. The kitchen is stocked with all of the necessary appliances and coffee and tea. There is a TV, DVD player, stereo, wifi and of course your own private bathroom with a blow-dryer.
Funky Chickin is a very warm and comfy place to stay in Amsterdam. Smoker friendly. Funky Chickin has a narrow and winding stairway which may not be suitable for the elderly. Funky Chickin may not be the place to stay if you are a non-smoker or have small children. Well behaved pets are welcome!!
Please note; the reservations need to be guaranteed by credit card however payment needs to be done by CASH IN EUROS UPON CHECK IN!! TAX IS NOT INCLUDED IN PRICE. There is a standard refundable €100 cleaning/damage/ key deposit per room. There is a 4 person maximum per apartment - no exceptions!

This is a great place to stay...the location is set back just a little from all the hustle and bustle in dam but only a 5 min walk if you want to join in (as you do)! lina was pucker...even when we got slightly carried away one night. she let us leave our bags in her appartment on the monday before we went and even charged my mobile for me ***star***
what can i say...if you are thinking of staying in an appartment in dam, check the "funky chicken",

Lina who own`s it is very helpfull, nice lady the location of the appartments are ideal, you are were you need to be to get to everything, close to dame square and shop`s ideal place if you just need somewhere toget your head down The stairs are very narrow would not recomend for any old or diabiaty people as there is know one to help you with your bags,fridge did not work propely ,no long mirror`s and blind`s on window`s need a goo clean.Anonymous

Lina is friendly and helpful, she tried her best to explain everything we wish to know. the room is lovely and we get everything we want, we did enjoy our stay. strongly recommend.However, the stair too narrow. is alright if carry backpack but abit difficult if carry large luggage. Debbie Penny

Ideal place to stay, just minutes away from dam square and all the local attractions. we stayed in the purple room and it was perfect, separate shower room, kitchin, and bedroom in loft, lovely comfy beds. very clean and friendly , we were even met off the train, and we were given a map and shown where to find all the places of interest. would definately stay at the funky chickin againAnonymous

Room was clean, beds were comfortable.some food had been left in the fridge, bread, butter, milk and eggs, these were very useful on our arrival.Stairs were very steep, uneven and narrow. being informed that we should be careful not to leave any food on the surfaces or crumbs on the floor as there had been a problem with mice did not inspire confidence. however we were careful and did not see any evidence of mice in the studio flat while we were there. toilet cistern needed repairing and after one morning of trying to get it fixed it was decided to leave it until we had vacated the flat.Steve

This is one of the bes places to stay in dam! the blue room we had was excelent and lina is a very freindly host who will help you anyway she can. the location is ideal. its just far enough out of the main red light district so you can get a good nights sleep away from the stag parties but still close enough to some of the best coffee shops that dam has to offer. if you come from the uk and decide to stay here dont forget to take lina some crumpets and clotted cream!? it pays dividends??????None!! only the stairs but hey! get over it its amsterdam!!!Anonymous

For something alternative to the conventional, the funky chickin is the place to stay, with a charming hostess that goes out of her way to ensure guest have a wonderful stay.
lina was fantastic gave us the lowdown on the local area, our own personal tour guide. she’ll even come pick you up from the train station even though it’s a simple straight walk.
the rooms are great and spacious, she equips the apartment with all the essentials, it’s even better than home!! lol if you don’t like stairs go for the blue room).
location!! location!! location!! the funky chickin is centrally located to dam square with all the main areas minutes to get to, and even more importantly easy to find your way back (for those of you who like to get smashed!!)
the funky chickin is by the far the best place i’ve stayed in dam and defiantly the place i’m going back to next time.
if you do decide to book funky chicken, take some crumpets and shortbread for lina, they’ll go a long way!!

The funky chickin is a great alternative to the conventional hotel room, its a more social and relaxed holiday for a group and is in an ideal location only 3 mins from dam square.

Staff were great - met us at the station and walked us round. very clean and cosy - real home from home with everything you need and the extras you didn't think you would! fantastic location. this was just what we were looking for. lovely places to eat nearby and dam square and supermarket 2 minutes walk. typical winding staircase but you get used to them as they're everywhere in amsterdam! be aware that they don't take credit cards for the deposit when you get there - you will need to take extra euros.Mark Beaumont
