Description
Hotel Groenhof is a family hotel recently renovated with an outstanding service and very friendly staff. The hotel is conveniently situated in the heart of Amsterdam on a quite street next to the famous Vondelpark and close of Amsterdam's most fascinating attractions. Leidseplein the main square with restaurants, bars, brown cafes, cosy pubs, theatres, casino, tourist office, canal rides, the Rijkmuseum, Rembrandts museum, Van Gogh museum etc., are all with in 4 to 10 minutes walk from the hotel. "RAI", the conference business centre is 10 minutes by taxi or tram.
Hotel Groenhof offers 40 well-equipped rooms including 4 family rooms, cosy lobby and a bar. Rooms have TV, phone, a work-desk, fully equipped shower-room including hairdryer, soap and shampoo dispenser. Groenhof also offers a conference room for up to 15 delegates.

How to reach the hotel?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take tram: 1 from the square in front of the station to the Eerst constantijn huygensstaat. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 1 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

The room and accomodations were decent, at best.The "included" breakfast was pretty awful. we had to get food from another restaurant to fill us up. the rooms could have been cleaner and the staff a little nicer. the hotel is also currently under construction (june 2008). i'm sure that once it is complete the accomodations will improve.Anonymous

The staff were very nice and arranged for an early check in so i could have a sleep having been at the airport at 4am!Bedding wasn't the cleanest and the breakfast was a little poor but overall not bad for a weekend stayAnonymous

It is in the museum district (not so noisy), 10 minutes to leidseplein - good reason to go for a walk. we've got everything we need in the room. the bed is very comfortable, i really get enough sleep with pleasant.The room is little bit rub. the breakfast is not so rich. if you want to smoke you got to go out.Anonymous

Really friendly and helpful staff. good location. The hotel is in need of a total renovation. the rooms in the basement should only be used for storing potatoe and not rented out for humans. make sure that you are not the last one to arrive on a friday night so you would have the chance to swap it for a room on the upper floors. nice clean comfortable room at a reasonable price, all staff very friendly and efficientBreakfast - very limited , no rolls, no yoghurt, fruit.
need to check light bulbs in rooms, our lamp did not work, we did not get around to mentioning it - one headlamp dim, no drawers to put clothes in.
