From Hotel Ajax D.R. Amsterdam it is only a short walk (7 minutes) to the central station. The hotel is in the centre of all the tourist attractions including the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House and a wealth of pubs and discos. This family-run hotel, overlooking the Amstel river is beautifully located in the city centre, just in between the two most visited squares of Amsterdam: Rembrandt Square and Dam Square. Hotel Ajax is also a good hotel for business people as you can move very easy and fast through Amsterdam especially for people going to the RAI exhibition, tram number 4 stops in front of the hotel.
All rooms have a private shower, toilet, television and radio. The view from the front of the hotel is one of the most beautiful in the city where you will see Rembrandt Square, l'Europe Hotel and the Amstel.
Please note that you must book for a minimum of 3 nights at the weekend. Failure to do so can result in your booking being cancelled. For reservations during the New Year, Easter and the IBC-conference, the hotel will charge you for 1 night prior to arrival.

How to reach the hotel?2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram nr. 4, 9, 16, 24 or 25 from the square in front of the station to 'Spui/Rokin'. The tram stop is in front of the hotel. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.
Central Station is a 7 minutes walk from the hotel. Also the bus station is near and many tram stops (no. 1, 2, 5, 13, 17 etc.) are on Dam Square (3 minutes walking distance from the hotel).

Great location (easy to get anywhere in the center of the city), very relaxed about smoking in the rooms and cheap!Our room was on the third floor. this meant walking up three flights of very narrow staircases to get to the room. the room it self was a mess and the bathroom was not very nice at all.Anonymous

The hotel was basic but clean and reasonably prices.My iphone was taken out of my bag during the day while i was out. the staff were helpful but unable to do anything about it. the bed had been turned down while i was out so it was possibly the cleaning staff that took it. i lodged a police report detailing the incident.Leslie Johnson

The location is excellent! they are laid back about noise making, smoking and piling loads of people into a room to chill out! great for a bunch of friendsThe cleanliness is pretty poor, the bathroom was full of limescale and mould. there was also an ash stain across a few of the walls.
