Hotel Iris offers 9 clean and reasonably priced tourist accommodations in the centre of Amsterdam. The hotel is situated within walking distance of the Rembrandt Square, Dam Square and Leidse Square.
Several places of interest can be easily reached on foot as well as by public transport and museums such as the famous Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, the Anne Frank House and others are close by.
Hotel Iris has 9 rooms with a view on the canal or rooms with a view on the garden. All rooms are non-smoking!

After a stroll over the famous Albert Cuijp market you’ll reach the Rijksmuseum and van Gogh Museum. These top attractions lie in the vicinity of the hotel, just as many theatres and the Royal Concertgebouw. All these places of interest can be easily reached by public transport as well. Other places worth visiting like the Anne Frank House, Artis Zoo, the Maritime Museum, Madame Tussaud’s, Sex Museum, Rembrandt’s house, the Amsterdam Historical Museum and so on are all located within 30 minutes walking distance.
For visitors of the RAI Convention Centre the location is pre-eminently suitable: you can reach it in 10 minutes.

Never actually saw hotel iris as we ended up at hotel max during our check-in (see explanation in the "negative" section). hotel max was clean and relatively quiet. it was a nice neighborhood, not far on the tram or a bike from centraal and dam square, and very near an open air bazaar. also a reasonable trek (by bike) to several museums and vondelpark.We did not stay at the hotel iris, but rather at hotel max, as we were informed upon our arrival at hotel max (where we were to check in) that our room at iris would not be ready for an hour (even though we waited and wandered the city until the 2pm check in time we were given). after waiting a long time to check in, due to their very slow service, i was informed of the delay. after complaint, they compromised and downgraded us (price remained the same) from our triple room at the iris to a double room at hotel max (we arrived with one less traveler than originally planned) because they had just finished cleaning at hotel max and were just starting at iris. the double room was very small for the price (literally just big enough for the bed and closet, and we had to sit sideways on the ensuite toilet to close the door), but it was clean and relatively quiet, and we bumbled though the small space. my biggest complaint would be the service, which was very slow with check-in and cleaning, and when we tried to purchase some internet time we were informed that the hotel could not provide change, so we would have to pay with the exact amount, which we did not have at that time.Andrew Lennon
