The hotel is located close to the famous Leidse Square, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh museum, Museum of the Modern Art, countless art galleries as well as the very popular Vondelpark and the P.C. Hooftstraat where you will find the most exclusive shops of Amsterdam within 5 minutes walking distance.
The hotel enjoys a central location only a few minutes away from Museum Square and Leidse Square. The area around Hotel Paganini Amsterdam is lively and crammed with museums, shops, restaurants and a casino's.
How to reach the hotel?1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM. The costs are approximately EUR 3,00 per person (single fare) and the travelling time is approximately 20 minutes (go to step 2).
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram n. 16, 24 or 25 from the square in front of the station to stop 'Stadhouderskade/Fer. Bolstraat' at the Heineken museum. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 1 minute. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM. The travelling time is approximately 10 minutes from the central station.
By taxi: You can also take a taxi to Paganini. Costs from Amsterdam Central Station: +/- EUR 10,00.

The one positive comment that i can make is that the breakfast was above average for amsterdam (although not fully available at 07:00hrs as advertised)
Although i was only expecting a basic room i was by no means prepared for what i found on arrival. the room was sealed and airless. the window was an internal one that only looked onto the internal staircase and was sealed and did not open. the air-conditioning unit on the wall was broken and in it's place was a small desk fan that only served to move the very warm air around the room. consequently, i avoided spending any time in the room and had three sleepless nights before i had to attend a very busy conference where i was required to be alert and efficient. as you can imagine, this was virtually impossible. in addition to this, there was insufficient space between the shower cubicle and the wash basin for a grown man to stand comfortably.Anonymous

Good location to leidesplein and all other parts of amsterdam. some rooms are nice some not so good.The first room they put us in had no real window and the air con did not work but 2 days into stay they moved us to a much better room with balcony.Patterson

Excellent location, although very small the room was clean and tidy. our beds were very comfortable. the room we stayed in looked over a canal which was very scenic. overall we had a pleasant stay and felt it was ok for the price we paid.The entrance and stairway smelt badly of drains however the room did not smell. the room was extremely small but was fine for those who just want somewhere to crash. we didn't have breakfast as there was a queue of people waiting and some where even eating their breakfast standing up. if you are planning on spending alot of time in the hotel rather than out and about i wouldn't recommend this hotel however it was fine for those who just want somewhere to sleep.Anonymous

Parking garage is a 5 minute walk from the hotel - very expensive, as it is everywhere in amsterdam. hotel clerk was helpful.Foul oder in the stairway - smelled like sewage leak. room was extremely small, about 8 foot by 8 foot for a double, so we had to stack our luggage in the bathroom. no elevator (we were on the 3d floor). breakfast room located down the street, along with the reception desk. breakfast room very small and insufficient seating. unimpressive breakfast. we will never stay there again. it felt like a one star hotel with a 4 or 5 star price.Anonymous

For the price it was reasonable value. breakfast was good ham, eggs, cheese, bread, cereals,juice etc
if going buy the i amsterdam card excellent value 53 euro's for 72 hours of free attractions and free tram and bus travel
don't bother with a taxi get the train from the the airport and then the tram 16 or 24 to the heinken stop and it the road on the right just over the trafic lightsThey don't tell you the check in and breakfast is in the hotel at the end of the street.

Was ok nothing special, very poor administration though, however i stayed there in october 07 and that stay was slighthly better.Water was going cold now and again, i was not happy with the cleaner going round all the rooms then knocking my door very early in the morning shouting room service! room service! then handing over to me some clean towels. and the room was very small.
