How to reach the hotel?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You dont have take the tram, you can walk to the hotel +/- 5 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

Excellent location, nice atmosphere, good breakfast, nice pub next door. very spacious. would book again.

The location of the hotel is excellent; its close proximity to the train station, taxis, churches, restaurants and entertainment make getting around quite easy. without exception, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. in fact, i would have to describe all of the nederlander's i encountered as very approachable, friendly and hospitable. this is especially important to me as a traveler with a disability. the breakfast buffet was excellent. unfortunately, the group i was with the elected to dine at places other than the hotel and so i am unable to comment on the food other than the breakfast buffet. although the hotel is in the center of a very busy district, the rooms are surprisingly quiet-not once did i have any difficulty getting a good night's sleep.
Given the age of the hotel, there were some features that are presented some difficulties for me. in particular, the low lighting in the rooms, along with the dark carpets presented some tripping hazards, as did the step up into the bathroom. as a traveler with a disability, i found that the hotel prins hendrik presented significant challenges, especially in the area of the bathroom: no grab bars for the toilet & bathtub, a hand-held shower fixture which was unreachable for someone in a wheelchair, or a short person for that matter; no hooks or shelves on which to place things; and most difficult of all, a 2-3 inch step up into the bathroom. additionally there is a significant step up to get to any of the rooms in the hotel, and the buffet area is very crowded. Very friendly receptionist. booked a triple room and we received a spacious room overlooking the front of the hotel. breakfast was good.
