Tulip Inn Amsterdam Art is a modern first-class hotel built in 2001. The hotel is located on the edge of Amsterdam's historical centre, in the Westerpark borough. This hotel is 10 minutes away from the city centre and 20 minutes away from Schiphol Airport. Recently the rooms have been partly renovated. All chairs have been redecorated and the carpet is renewed. During your stay you will find fascinating works of art in all public areas, bearing tribute to the hotel's name. More art is to be found in the Art Cafe, a brown pub in typical Amsterdam style and in restaurant The Gallery, with its pleasant artistic atmosphere. In Summer you can also enjoy the outside terrace which overlooks the outdoor pool.

*How do I get to the Tulip Inn Centre Hotel by public transport? :

1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)

2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take bus: 22 from the square in front of the station to the Zaanhof/koogstraat. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 2 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

If you are going to a concert in westerpark, then the location is great. otherwise nothing else is near by.
We tried t eat in the restaurant for dinner. we sat down for 15 minutes and no one even come over to greet us or give us a glass of water. right before we left another couple sat down and they were served immediatley. so we got up and left.

Nice hotel. spacious rooms with comfortable beds. nice bathroom.
I was double charged for my booking as i payed in advance 3 days before i arrived, i phoned to get a refund but was told it would take 5 days, which meant i had no money whie i was there. i informed the woman of this and she was no help at all saying there was nothing she could do and offered no compensation. when i arrived at the hotel i mentioned this and was not even offered an appology. i have since been refunded but for the wrong amount. £20 short. - mini bar was locked. - no tea or coffee facilities in room. - a bit far from city centre, but we already knew about this. apart from this it is a lovely hotel which i have stayed in before without problems.

-quiet -wifi -clean and confortable rooms
We've booked a triple room using easytobook.com but at check-out the lady at the reception charged us 40eur for "extra bed in a double room". luckly i had the printed email confirmation of my reservation where the "standard triple room" was described.

Very clean, nice bathrooms, quiet location but still close to town. also, having a fridge was nice - even if it was stocked full of mini bar goods...
Very uncomfortable beds! they have a plastic sheet covering the matress. sure it prolongs the life of the matress but it makes for a very hot and uncomfortable sleep.

Staff was amazing. buffet was a bit expensive, but a huge selection of a variety of foods and vegetarian-friendly as well. clean hotel and free wifi. nice quiet neighborhood for sleeping in late.
Just plan on taking the 22 bus into town and back to the hotel each day. there's nothing to do in the area of the hotel and it's a small journey to walk it their or back. don't plan on walking it or you will be bummed. (just about a 10 min. bus ride, not bad)

Staff were very helpful.
The shutting down of the dining room between breakfast and lunch did cause us some problems. i do not know whether this is normal practice in holland. if it is ignore this comment.

Good sized bright clean room for 3 - quiet room even on road front and good sized tv after busy day
Expensive breakfast and very cool when we sampled it as a treat - tiresome waiting for bus in evening - extra buses added to travel costs and time

Hotel reception staff were excellent e.g. linda. she really excelled and helped me to explore holland by taking the time and trouble to explain where several university places were located. extremely helpful and really listened to me.. great member of staff, needs a promotion! many thanks.
Some confusion over the cost and credit card payment. i had to pay for the whole 4 night stay on my arrival. i find this extremely confusing and not the norm by any means. i could left the hotel and gone elsewhere.

- helpful staff. - great beds (but single mattresses!) and pillows. - interesting tourist information on the in-house tv system.
- to say that it is an 'art' hotel is a word too far; a few pictures slapped on the wall and a head board with a pattern on it does not create an 'art' hotel. - hotel should invest in double mattresses rather than the singles! - there is no tea / coffee making facilities in the rooms, which is incredibly annoying. - you have to use the electronic room card to:- get in the hotel, operate the lift, open the door to the corridor and then finally your room! for those that like security great, but for the majority you will feel like you have been jailed! - mini bar was over priced - car parking at hotel is also extortion. if you use the park and ride that is only a 1km (ish) away and you can park there for an entire day fo 6 euros (for upto 4 days) and this includes two return travel cards. - not a fault with the hotel but do not leave you car outside unattended whilst you run to find change for the meter as you check in or you will return to find a penalty ticket!

Rooms are tidy, bathroom is bright and clean. staffs are helpful and friendly. the breakfast is quite nice. location is okay, just take bus 48 or 22, and you can go to city centre in 10 mins. our package included von gogh museum tickets so that we don't have to queue. remeber to take the mini-cards next to the reception, there are loads of discounts to the museums and restaurants (especially the bojo indonesian restaurants, it's yummy!). also you can exchange for coins in the reception, so that you can buy cheaper train tickets in the station using the machines rather than going to the ticket service desk (you need to pay the extra service charge).
Our package included a 3 courses supper in the hotel, which are soup, steak with chips and desserts. the quality of food and service is just fair, as they know you are using the voucher only. also the double bed is just putting the two single beds together, which is not so comfortable. they don't provide kettles.
