Beurs van Berlage Amsterdam

Designed by Hendrik Berlage, the Beurs Van Berlage (once known as the Amsterdam Stock Exchange) is located directly in the center of Amsterdam. The Amsterdam Stock Exchange helped the city to become one of the leading stock exchangers in the world and helped to build the city into the prosperous tourist center it is today. One hundred years after the initial construction of the building, the museum for the Buers van Berlage opened. Open Tuesday through Sunday, the hall's cafe is available for dinners, parties, and receptions. The Beurs Van Berlage is multifunctional building offering many extravagant rooms for private and public use. Home to royal weddings and extravagant balls (in addition to the historical stock exchange), the Beurs van Berlage museum has plenty of history to offer the interested traveler. Initially recognized for its housing of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the building is also considered a highlight in the history of contemporary architecture. This is what it is most famous for. As such, it has inspired many architects and has helped to shape the architecture of Europe. The Beurs Van Berlage also features monthly exhibits, as well as concerts, with the feature of the April month being “The Footsteps of Elvis.”
