Sydney is known for its diverse cultural influences of the various aboriginal tribes and of foreign influences. The Hwa Tsang Buddhist Monastery is a wonderful monastery that houses six monks and one nun. The Monastery has several community outreach programs along with a high school education program. Visitors are welcomed to the Hwa Tsang Buddhist Monastery's library and main hall. The building itself is beautiful and worth the visit alone. The library houses books on Buddhism in both English and Chinese and can be studied by those interested.

On Saturdays the public is welcomed to breakfast sessions at the Monastery. The Hwa Tsang Buddhist Monastery is a great place to visit even for those not studying Buddhism. The grounds of the monastery and the architecture of the building are beautiful and the monks and nun are extremely helpful and informative. The monastery also publishes their own books which are available free of charge and courses are offered in Buddhism.
