Hawkesbury River Sydney

The Hawkesbury River is an astoundingly beautiful river located in New South Wales. The river which is also referred to as the Hawkesbury-Nepean River was discovered in 1788 taking three years to map the entire waterway. The dual name is a result of two different groups of European explorers naming the river different names without realizing it.  Of course the Aboriginal tribes have inhabited the Hawkesbury River before dated history and call it Deerubbun. During European colonization Hawkesbury River was a major transportation route to Sydney and is still used for commercial transportation.
