Quarantine Station Ghost Tour Sydney

Advances in public health and safety were a tad primitive during the 19th and 20th century. As such is was a common practice to quarantine travelers entering ports and harbors suspected of carrying infectious and dangerous diseases. During the time period that this Quarantine Station was operational typhoid, smallpox, and the plague were major concerns and were never treated lightly as these diseases were capable of wiping out large portions of the population. The Quarantine Station today is preserved as it was during the 19th and 20th century complete with documents, equipment, and residents.
