The Parliament House located in Sydney is an important monument both historically and politically. The main Parliament building dates as far back as 1816 with additional buildings added through the decades and into the 1980's. The Parliament House is a great visit for anyone with an interest in politics and the history of politics in Australia. The Parliament House is still in use so access will be limited on occasion. However, the Visitor's Gallery is always open to the public should you happen to visit on one of the sitting days which is when the Parliament is in session.

Should you visit on a non-sitting day, access to the Parliament House is fairly open with a few restrictions. Among the areas that you will be able to visit is the Legislative Council Chamber, Jubilee Room, and the Legislative Assembly. The Jubilee Room has several displays focusing on the restoration efforts for the Parliament House as well as objects from the collection that chronicle the history of the building.
