Pros: The shops local to the hotel were good.
Cons: Shared showers, poor room security, difficult access to rooms (cases had to be carried up two flights of external steel stairs, over the hotel smoking area).

Guests can spend their time enjoying the beautiful beaches in the area, exploring the Gold Coast, strolling and cycling on the pathways, touring the Brisbane Central Business District, or visiting the many shops and restaurants nearby. All of this is within very easy reach of the hotel. The Waterloo Bay Hotel was built in the late 19th century and has a historic charm to it. Yet, it has all of the modern amenities and services you would expect from a nice hotel. There is a restaurant, the Fig Restaurant, where you can enjoy a pleasant meal surrounded by the lush rainforest. You can host weddings and other private functions here, as well. There is a liquor store where you can purchase bottles of spirits or whatever other libation you enjoy. There is a sports bar where you can enjoy a drink and watch a game. There is also a gaming room, where you can try your luck at gambling. You never even have to leave the hotel to be entertained.
