It is sometimes hard to find something that everyone can do together and enjoy. This is particularly true if you are traveling with children. The city of Graz manages to help you amuse the little child in all the family members in a number of ways. If you and/or your children like amusement rides, you are sure to enjoy the Schlossberg Cave Railway in Graz.

This is an unusual type of amusement ride. It takes place miles underground. You board a miniature railway. It cruises for 2km around 20 minutes along a route covering the underground tunnel system below the Schlossbergplatz. These tunnels, past of system constructed during World War II as bomb shelters, become part of a Fairy Tale journey. They call this the Märchengrottenbahn – the Fairytale Grotto Line and you will quickly discover the reason why.You and your children glide past scenes straight from the Grimm Brothers’ Fairy Tale Books. Heroic, historical and legendary scenes emerge from the darkness, beautifully bathed in soft light as you go by.
