The Hauptbanhof in Graz is the oldest train station in Austria. This main train station – Hauptbanhof, has recently been renovated. In 1991 and 18992, a pedestrian tunnel provided direct access to the main hall. Between 1999 and 2002, the retail and commercial usage expanded in sections around the Main Hall. Thus, within the main hall, you have an attractive glassed in mall. The artwork in the Railway Station is by Peter Kogler. It helps to make a brief stay an attractive one.

Graz’ main train station, like so many within the established Austrian cities, is close to the downtown. It is part of a central transportation hub established in the 1900s. You can walk to the central Hauptplaz within 15 to 20 minutes. The station has several amenities including a tourist office, shops and businesses. Trains from here go to Austrian destinations such as Salzburg and Vienna. There are also regular trains to Germany, Hungary, Slovenia and Zurich. You can catch night and day trains
