There is a chapel in the forest just south of the small village of Medraz. TheBlutschwitzerkapelle contains a carved figure of Christ. The work is that of Brother Martinian, the last Hermit from Medraz. Brother Martinian is also responsible for several pieces in the Church of St. Margaret in Mendaz not too far from Fulpme in the Tyrol region of Austria.
The Church of St. Maragret, in the village proper, dates from the Rococo period of architecture. Construction began in 1746. Reconstruction took place in 1833 after severe flood damage by the Ruetz Stream. Brother Martinian designed and created the Rococo pulpit. He also made several other pieces, carving them from local wood. His tabernacle is wonderfully constructed. You might also want to spend time looking at the pictures over the high altar. They portray the suffering of St. Margarita. It shows her decapitation in detail. You can also distinguish the figures of Blasius and Silvester in the work.
