In Innsbruck, Austria, a building may undergo many lives. Some become museums. Others may evolve into restaurants or hotels. In the case of one theater, it now serves as a Congress house

The Innsbruck Congress began its life as a Comedia House. The work began construction under Archduke Leopold V. Work got under way in 1629 and was completed by 1932. The work was a marvel – the only single standing opera and theater house north of the Tyrol Alps. The 19th century saw the end of the theater. Reconstruction turned it into the Dogana or Toll Hall. During World War II, this function and most of the building vanished, destroyed by bombs and fire. Reconstruction took place again. The new building opened its doors in 1973. The former opera then Toll House is now a modern Congress. It is host to conferences and conventions. The Congress provides all the amenities and necessities you may require. This include a refurbished, state-of-the –art convention center.
