The Alpenverien Museum tells the history of mountaineering in the Tyrol Alps. When you enter, you receive a brief overview of history of alpinism before going into depth. The museum relies on a variety of media and materials to inform. There are maps and other cartographic items. They place the mountains into context. To illustrate further the history are paintings and reliefs by several different artists. Of primary importance is the painting Bergraum 1 by Tyrolean artist, Albin Egger-Lienz. There are also exhibits of mountaineering equipment to put the topic into context. To round off the exhibits, there are several models of mountain huts.
