This is very true of Klagenfurt’s Mini Mundus near the Klagenfurt Airport. Attention to detail and the proper “original” setting make this small adventure worth taking your children and yourself to visit.

Mini Mundus contains 140 models of famous international buildings. You can, as the advertisements say, take a trip around the world in a single day. In this large, open garden area, you can pass through five different continents in a brief space of time. Some of the representative models are extremely well known. The Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the White House and the Taj Mahal are recognized all around the globe. Yet, there is also Bulgaria’s Rila Monastery and the Yemeni Royal Palace. Each model is displayed in its natural setting. The realistic rendering is in an exact scale. The materials of basalt, marble and sandstone do not destroy the illusion. What adds the proverbial icing to the cake is the net result of the visit. All proceeds from Mini Mundus goes to Save the Children, Austria.
