If you have children, you might want to take them on a special excursion. If you are tired of children’s museums and cannot stand the idea of a commercial theme park, there is another option. Go to Fuschl am See near Salzburg. Not only is it located on a lake, providing bathing opportunities, but you can also take the children for a day on a farm.

The Bambichl Farm recreates the experience of the Austrian Farmer. You visit a real farm and discover how it functions. In the morning, you and your child will experience riding a tractor into the forest. You can cut down a tree with an axe or saw. Given a hammer and nails, your child will reconstruct a house. Later, on another farm, your child can play in the hay, making various animals from it. Haylofts are there for them to play in and from which to jump. All and all, it is a different way of spending a day.
