The Small Festival Hall in Salzburg (now the House for Mozart) is one of many venues in the city to provide concerts and other forms of entertainment. It is part of the celebrated Festival Complex. The other two partners in this complex are the Rocky Riding School and the Large or Great Festival Hall. Each of the venues has its own place in the festival season.

The Kleines Festspielhaus is now the House of Mozart. Renovations between 2004 and 2006 brought about this change in name. The current Festival Hall seats 1,600. It also contains two other components: the Faistauer Foyer and the Karl- Böhm-Saal. The architect was one of Clemen Holzmeister’s students, Wilhelm Holzbauer. He incorporated two of the older facets of the building into a newer structure. As a result, the Hall retains the red marble floor in the Foyer. More importantly, it still preserves the 1926 frescoes of Anton Faistauer on the walls and the 17th century frescoes of Karl-Böhm-Saal covering the ceiling. As the new name indicates, the House of Mozart restricts itself to performances of this composer’s work.
