Beer is a favorite drink in Austria. The brew is a popular with a wide spectrum of people. The country brews a variety of beers. In Austria, the largest private brewing company is Stiegl Breweries. It originated in Salzburg in 1492.

The brewery is not only famous for its product, it is also well known for its museum. Dubbed, “The World of Beer,” this collection of exhibits is extensive in size and scope. In fact, the floor space is some 35.000 square metres.You can wander through its many displays and learn a great deal of information about brewing and beer. There is the history of the company. There is also the product, itself. The exhibit tries to explain to you the different methods of brewing and its development over the centuries. You may learn the helpful skill of how to order a beer in 20 different languages. You can purchase a beer or two at the Braustube, the Brewery’s pub or t-shirts and hats, steins or bottle at the its shop.
