If you enjoy both skiing and hiking, Austria has the perfect place for you and your family. In fact, you can come in the summer and do both activities. This is possible in the Zillertal Valley in the region of Tux and Hintertux. The Hintertux glacier ensures skiing all year. Some of your family, or you, can hit the slopes. Others can wander off to hike the valley and see its beauties. You can follow any one of the 350 km of clearly demarked routes. They can lead you past Alpine flowers and through meadows and forests. They can also take you to see the Tuxer Wasserfälle and the nearby Schrauben Waterfall.

You can locate the Tuxer Wasserfälle or Tux Waterfall in Hintertux at the end of the southern part of the Zillertal Valley. It falls from an impressive height into a rocky basin below. After you listen to the roar of the water, you can also wander over to several nearby caves. This includes the Schraubenfallhöhle cave. The cave is some 105 meters in length. Nearby is the Schrabuen Waterfall.
