Near Bad Kleinkirchheim is the small farming community of St. Oswald. The region features many interesting attractions. Among them, is a remnant of old farming practices. This is the Egarter Hof.

You can locate the Egarter Hof on Egarter Hof Farm. The Egarter Hof is a granary. In times past, farmers used the structure to store such things as bread, corn and even speck (Austrian style bacon, smoked and dried). These corn-chambers date from the 17th and early 18th centuries. Their location is a safe distance from the actual farmhouse and animal barns or stables. This helped to prevent the spread of fire. The Egarter Hof provides you with an excellent opportunity to view early Nock rural architecture. While on the farm, look at the “Oswalder Bath House.” No longer fulfilling its original function, it, nevertheless, reminds you of early farm conditions in the region.
