Mozart lived in several houses during his time in Vienna. He and his family rented at least 11 different places. The Figarohaus is the only one left intact after all these years. It is also the most famous of the houses he called home. He lived in the second floor apartment consisting of four main rooms.Mozart lived in the Figarohaus from September 1784 to April 1787. At this time, the house went under the name of the Camesina House. For Mozart fans, this house is must to visit. It is where he sat and composed dozens of piano concertos as well as his Marriage of Figaro. He also wrote 6 quartets here, dedicating them to Joseph Haydn. Haydn was frequent visitor as was Johann Nepomuk Hummel. A 16-year-old Beethoven learned piano here from Mozart. The house is a small museum to Mozart. It has exhibits, a gallery and a ground floor café.
