Vienna International is the largest of Austria’s 55 airports. It started as a military airport in 1938. By 1972, it had two runways. Today, it has 2 runways with a third in construction. There are also 3 terminals with a 4th, the Skylink, reaching completion in 2008. Vienna is truly an international airport with flights to various countries and places including Amsterdam, Bergamo, Berlin, Cologne, Dubai, Egypt, France, Geneva, Germany, Innsbruck, Italy and London-Heathrow. You can also reach it with ease by hopping a bus or taking the underground train.
The airport offers several amenities for its travelers. It has some 25 different bars, cafes or restaurants. These include cold and hot snacks as well as vegetarian food.
