Fladnitz is a year-round resort area in the Weiz district of Styria north of Graz. Local attractions include the Almenland Nature Reserve (Austria’s largest stretch of mountain pastureland) and Teichalm Lake. Summertime activities include horseback riding, hiking, and golf, and winter offers downhill skiing on the Teichalpe and on the nearby Sommeralm. Also nearby is the beautiful village of St. Kathrein am Offenegg, which—besides being quite scenic—Is the site of Styria’s first wind power plant.
