Description
The hotel Catalonia Berna is situated in the centre of Barcelona, a few metres from the prestigious Paseo de Gracia and Plaza Catalunya, where you can admire the best examples of Catalan modernist architecture and where the city's most exclusive boutiques and shopping areas are located.
Inaugurated in 2003, the hotel is housed in one of the first classical style buildings of the Eixample area, which were built in 1864 by the architect Josep Cerdà. It's the only building that conserved and completely restored it's front original paintings and ornaments.
In the spacious hall, illuminated by large windows, you will find a nice lounge area and a restaurant where you can enjoy international dishes. In order to reach the first floor, where the bar and the 6 meeting rooms are located, you can either use the main stair case or one of the 2 panoramic lifts. The meeting rooms are perfect for any kind of celebration.
Distributed over 6 floors, some of the 124 rooms have a terrace and they are all equipped with wooden floors and wooden furniture. Like the rest of the hotel's facilities, they are decorated in a modern style and offer maximum comfort: you will have a WiFi internet connection, satellite TV and a private bathroom.

From Barcelona-El Prat international airport, take the RENFE local train to Plaça Catalunya railway station and then switch to L3 green line towards Canyelles for one stop. The hotel is only a few metres from the underground station.

The staff were fantastic, especially those in the restuarant. i have to say the food was fantastic value for money and the resturant staff were top class! they were professional and made us feel pampered. the quality of the food was fantastic we were shocked how affordable it was. compliments to chef and the resturant staff. location was perfect did not get any cabs. Far too noisy, you cannot get a lie in. you can hear the cleaners at 9am so that was annoying. also they do not provide an iron - you have to pay for the service of ironing which is nonsense. Very nice and clean room, very quit. the hotel was in the center close to the metro.The price of the breakfast is € 15,00 each person. in the neighbourhood you can have breakfast for € 5,00 each person.Anonymous

Cleanliness, helpfulness of staff and overall design was very pleasing to the eye.Both rooms booked were extremely noisey both from traffic outside and from slamming doors until 04.00am. we did complain but the receptionist explained that there was nothing that could be done about the noise of other guests bedroom doors or the traffic.Anonymous
