Barcelona City Centre Hostal has a very central location and walking distance to Plaza Catalunya and therefore steps away from Las Ramblas boulevard and Paseo de Gracia a luxury shopping and sightseeing street including some Gaudi buildings.
How to reach the hotel?From the airport
The best way is to take the "aerobus" in front of all the terminals. Get off of it in PLAÇA UNIVERSITAT station and we are three streets from there.
By underground-metro
The stations of Plaça Universitat (Line 1 & 2) and Passeig de Gracia (Line 2 & 3) are the nearest. Plaça Catalunya station it´s also near our hostel (four streets).
By bus
The lines 7, 16, 17, 63, 67 and 68 stop in front us.
All the night busses stop in Plaça Catalunya, like a lot of the other diurnal lines.
By Train
The best is to get off in Passeig de Gracia station. If it is not possible, get off in Plaça Catalunya. But if your train stops only in Sants station, the best thing you can do is to take the 3rd line of the underground (Green line) and get off in Passeig de Gracia.
From Girona airport
Take the bus in Girona airport, that will leave you in Barcelona´s North Station. From there you can take a taxi to come to the hostel or take the nearest metro, that is ARC DEL TRIOMF station (1st line-Red line) and get off in PLAÇA UNIVERSITAT, from here you are 3 blocks away from our property.

Due to the very nice emails i've received from the staff of the city centre hostal before my arrival it was very easy to find it. i was shown to my room, which was actually even better than i expected, staff was nice and helpful, and the hotel was located very close to the so called city centre. i would definitely recommend it, and definitely would stay there during my next visit to barcelona :)Campbell

Hotel staffs were all kind and dedicated. rooms are cleaned.Shower head didn't work (not appropriately showered) and shower head holder didn't hold the head. another room was faced to the street and got big noise until 5am from the street people.Zahir Qayume

Good location away from hub of city centre but centre still easily accessible. 5 mins from metro and about 20 mins walking to centre of ramblas
hostel was clean and quiet
for the money, location and service the hostel was fair
One of the staff was rude and we were not allowed to talk in hallway
horrible window view of boiler and you could hear its noise 2
shower was loose and kept falling off and drainage was poor, kept gathering water
we had asked for 3 single beds but got 2 double, 1 single and half a bed. they were a bit unconfortable

The hotel was ok in general just a few issues, no kettle to make hot drinks fridge door did not shut properly the microwave had no turn table plate as that had obviously gone missing or been broken.
the other thing one of bed legs collapsed on us, on examination of all the bed legs they had been damaged at some point before, we reported it to the staff, to which they got someone to repair it,
but it was still very unstable.
the terrace doors did not lock either so we did not feel we could leave any valuables in the room at all.
we did go to other hostels and ask about price’s to which some were cheaper offering the type of accommodation we already had this was good information for a future visit.Please see aboveAnonymous

Staff nice and friendly but not imposing, we booked in with ease, everything about the hostal was explained the receptionist answered any questions about where local facilities were located and explained the best way to get to the most popular tourist places from the hostal. after that we were left to enjoy our holiday at our own pace knowing the staff were there to help if needed.

The room it self was lovely and spacious.very clean and tidyFirst impressions of location and exterior of building was very poor.the front facade is in dire need of facelift and there is nothing on front to say its the hostal.the lift althogh very old and quaint only added to our impending doom.this all changed though when we were shown our lovely room.Pedro Tavares

The clean bathroom and quiet environment.The staff members smoke and this lingered into our room. no windows. the air con smelt funny and was pretty poor. the t.v was mainly spanish channels.
