Opened recently in September 2007, this stylish contemporary hotel boasts comfortable modern accommodation and a superb location in the historic city centre, just a few minutes walk from La Ramblas.
The hotel’s convenient, central location makes it is a great base for exploring Barcelona’s beautiful historic heart, as well as the city’s Gothic quarter (Barrio Gótico), Plaza Catalunya and Paseo de Gracia.
All of Barcelona’s vibrant nightlife is right on the hotel’s doorstep, with great bars, cafes and restaurants within easy reach.

Location only. Disappointed in the hotel. the room i was given had bunk beds and was the size of a cramped sleeper compartment on a small train. i moved and got a room with a window looking into an internal well so lots of other rooms could see into my room. i had to keep the windows closed all the time so it was dark. the reception staff had no knowledge about barcelona. one member was on a working holiday and had been there 3 months. not a professional team. Excellent hotel in a very good location. staff were very friendly and helpful. the reception area and the room were very clean with good facilities. the free water available in reception was an added bonus. had the buffet breakfast one morning, which was very good. would stay there again.No drink making facilities in the room, which should be automatic with a three star hotel.

Very good location for sightseeing, clean rooms, helpful staff. rather noisy meighbourhood but couldn't hear a thing with when shutters closed. appreciated internet access and hot drink making facilities but recommend taking your own tea bags as nothing decent provided!Taxi driver could not find the place and eventually dropped us off at the end of the road so we had to walk in the rain. requested a bath but not available.Anonymous

Friendly and mainly helpfull staff - good location for exploring - decor modern and impressive
decor very modern and impressiveMuch noise during night with suitcases being wheeled on uncarpeted corridors so sleep disturbed. i had had my purse stolen on arrival in barcelona and a member of staff told me barcelona was a city of thieves then asked if i would be paying my bill - very insensitive as all my cards and money had been stolen. other members of staff more understanding and sensitive to immediate needs.

This is a very nice hotel located very close to the ramblas, the staff are very friendly and the atmosphere of the hotel is jovial and friendly, very modern finishes with elegant touches, ideal hotel, small but cosy. only hiccup that they do not have room service, however many restaurants around to cater for that. the idea of free drinking water and coffee was very nice also. A clean, modern place to stay, close to all that barcelona has to offer. the staff were friendly and very helpful. only comment would be that we booked a twin room but only given one blanket and pillow on arrival and had to pull the beds apart. however, this was quickly remedied. great to have the free water available also.Anonymous

The twin/double room my friend and i stayed in was comfortable. The single room my friend stayed in was not. it was too small and felt like a hostel room. the room should have been larger with a double bed considering the price was 85 euros per night, too high compared to the twin room for 100 to 115 euros per night (for two occupants). Both my wife and i were very impressed with ciutat vella. the hotel was very modern, bright and clean. they even had a jacuzzi and sun terrace on the roof! the staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. for a three star hotel, it was very impressive. the 'free water, sweets and hot drinks' were a nice touch. the hotel is very central to town, and overall we had a great stay. We were very impressed with all aspects of ciutat vella and thoroughly enjoyed our three day stay there. the location, so close to las ramblas, was fantastic. we enjoyed the generous provision of free internet connection and free bottled water. the room was modern and spacious with quality fittings throughout. above all, we found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming, with nothing seeming to be too much trouble to them. for example, we really appreciated the way they helped us track down a games shop for us to purchase some spanish boardgames. their service, we felt, was exceptional. we would highly recommend ciutat vella to our friends and we would definitely stay there again ourselves.None.
