Very pricey on drinks and food. location deceptive as directly joined to world trade centre. pool ridiculously small. no little bars or tapas within easy walking distance -at least 10 minutes away.

Staff could not do enough to help and were very friendly. hotel itself, you cannot fault, very clean all everywhere and immaculate.
Tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been nice. the bathroom floor is very slippery when wet! would have been nice if the gym and pool opened a little earlier, and details of massage treatments in the rooms. maybe even an onsite masseur would be good.

The view from our room was fantastic we overlooked most of barcelona. the staff were lovely.
We booked the hotel specifically because it had a pool, however this was shut while we were there - so a bit disappointing. drinks at the hotel were extortionate!

Hotel was of a very high standard and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. in a good position for shopping as the main centre is not very far away, and bus stop and boat trips not far from hotel either.
It was very expensive to eat and drink there. it was very noisy the day we departed as we had a cruise liner outside our room from 6.40am!

By rating all the above excellent it tells the story. the location is superb and the rooms are great and the srvice and friendliness of the employees were 5 stars
The in-room film quadriga did not work properly and the films were breaking. the hotel kindly cancelled the charges

We stayed here four nights during march '08 and we were delighted with all aspects of this hotel. from the friendly and very fast check-in to the efficient check-out: we thought everything about this hotel was very professional. we stayed in one of their deluxe rooms (winter special discount) and had a beautiful view of the city and a side view of the sea. some people on this web site complained about the noise of cruise liners and ferries during the night but as this was march, there were obviously no cruise ships docked and only one ferry per night. also, as our room had a sliding door separating the living room area to the bedroom, we were able to close this door. even if this door was open though, we didn't find the 'noise' annoying at all. an additional 'plus' for the hotel was on the day when we had asked for a 'wake-up call' at 7 am. it was so dark in the room, we couldn't find the phone to pick it up so we left it ringing until it stopped. prompt at 7:05 am there was a knock on our door: the hotel reception had sent someone up to our room to personally wake us up! we thought that was quite a nice touch. we didn't book our room with breakfast included and we thought at €30.- per person, this was quite expensive. in the mall of the world trade centre there are about 4 cafés where you can get a great coffee and tasty ham sandwiches at normal prices. don't go to the 'fresh and ready' though. we would suggest you try the one on the left corner next door to the chemists. we would certainly stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to anyone going to barcelona for whatever reason......

We liked the location, the room was spacious and clean and the views fron our room were fantastic.
The bed was uncomfortable and we would have liked tea and coffee making fascilities. however, my biggest complaint and the reason why i would not stay there again is that i have a very strong reason to believe that my debit card details were used frauduantly by one of the hotel employees. i only discovered this when i came home by which time over £1000 of debt had accrued. obviously i have been in touch with my bank and cancelled my card. although i cannot prove this beyond reasonable doubt, the only time my card was used was when we checked in. two days later an amount of £154 pounds was debited by the hotel (nothing to do with me)and then put back into my account on the same day - very strange! all the debt was run up while we were staying at the hotel and i can prove that my card was not used at any other time whilst we were in barcelona. obviously this is nothing to do with yourselves, but i would be interested to know if this sort of thing has happened before and what your thoughts are. thank you. alison clarke

Fantastic harbour front hotel. clean, stylish, and very friendly helpful staff. great size bedroom, with good facilities - loved the jacuzzi bath! great location for ease of access to numerous places to visit, with buses and metro within just a few minutes walk.
Only negative, the rooftop outdoor pool wasn't open this early in the year, but gym and terrace still worth a visit!

The hotel rooms were very comfortable and as it was our wedding anniversary we were treated to complementary cava from the hotel which we thought was a nice touch. the location was fine about 1/2 mile from the main centre which was a pleasant walk. the hotel also had a lovely view of the new harbour area which has been recently built. we didn't however eat in the hotel as it was very expansive. the staff were very friendly and couldn't seem to do enough to please us during our stay. upon our departure we were offered the use of the hotel car to take us to the airport which was also a very nice touch, the driver spoke very good english. the hotel car cost 35 euros, when we arrived the normal taxi cast 30 euro so for the extra 5 euro it was well worth it. all in all we would definatly go back!!
The only negative comment we have regarding our stay was that to eat in the hotel was expensive.

We seem to remember from the website that 90% of the rooms had sea views, this was not the case. we had requested a sea view when booking. on arrival we were accosted by various porters etc to bring our bags to the room and the chap who checked us in showed us to our room, which we felt was a bit unnecessary, over the top 5 star stuff - the main motivation was for tips, not the provision of an understated 5 star service which really should not get up your nose! when we arrived at the check in desk the receptionist knew our names before we gave them, this we found very uncomfortable....but we put it down to the fact that as it was just the day after christmas the hotel was very quiet and didn't seem to have very many peple staying.the room we were given on arrival was very nice but did not have sea views...as we had requested. in view of the fact that the hotel was so very quiet we would have expected our request for a sea view to be fulfilled. when we came back to the hotel that evening after eating out we found a letter pushed under the door of our room from the management stating that they had to do water testing (something to do with chlorine levels..) the next day from 10 am and that we could not drink the tap water but it could be used for washing etc during the testing period. bottled water was to be provided by the hotel free of charge.the next morning there was no hot water at all after 10am, we were half way through showers when the water turned brown and then clear and cold. we telephoned reception to complain and were told that there was nothing that could be done. we complained a second time and were told that some one would be up to us in 30mins. nobody arrived. after 12pm the bottled water arrived ....a bit late we felt. we went down to reception to complain again and queried why they had taken bookings if they knew they could not provide their service? we were told that this was outside of their control. we also asked why the information letter did not correctly inform us that after 10am water would not be available to us...they didn't know it would be so bad...to shut us up we were offered another room where the "water was working okay", the reality was it had a sea view and they knew that would shut us up. it wasn't until that evening that we realised we had been given a smoking room despite having requested a non-smoking room when booking and having been asked when checking in if that was our preference, but at that stage we didn't want the hassle of changing rooms again and re-packing our bags so we didn't make any further complaint. the water returned the next day and was fine after that. the sea view was fabulous. we felt we were not given a sea view on arrival as we had not booked directly with the hotel and i think we had gotten a discount when booking.the room service food was not good and it was over priced. it was e5.00 for a coffee on room service and e7.50 for a coca cola. we did not eat in the hotel as it was way over priced in comparison with what was available in the city. in any case the restaurant was in the first floor lobby area and the bar and concierge services were there too...it was clincial and not at all homely....this is a business hotel only in my opinion and not a place to stay longer than 2 days.
