Description
Opened in 2002, the Hotel H10 Montcada is located in the historical center of Barcelona, facing the cathedral. The city's main cultural sites are within five minutes' walking distance, including the Ramblas, Plaza de Catalunya, Paseo de Gracia, Picasso Museum, Palau de la Música, Liceo Opera, and the Contemporary Art Museum MACBA. The Hotel H10 Montcada has many excellent services and amenities such as a welcome drink and luggage service, viewpoint: on the 9th floor, offering splendid views of the whole city, free solarium, gym and outdoor Jacuzzi, free Internet corner, excellent cuisine in restaurant and buffet breakfast service, a lobby bar, room service, fresh flowers and a free safe in every room.

One thing to know about this hotel is its great location for anyone looking for a historically significant environment. Vía Laietana might be a little loud for some tastes, but the hotel's location, at the corner with Carrer Montcada, right next to the Gothic Quarter and the Barcelona cathedral is truly excellent.
This is one of the best places to start a number of sight-seeing tours and visit important attractions like the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Rambla, the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Picasso Museum. The night-life in this area is also highly popular, marked by some of the best exponents of both traditional and modern cuisine and many chic bars.

Location was ideal for visiting the entire city with many places within easy walking distance. anything a little further and the great barcelona underground network (located outside hotel) would get you there in a few minutes.On arrival the room was like a sweat box with only one of two aircon vents working, the one that was working was very slow and we had to leave on at all times to keep cool.
the minibar had a tin of opened olives left from the previous guests.
there were cracked and broken light and shower fittings.
the room walls were very thin meaning you could hear other guests trips to the toilet and general movement around their rooms.
generally i've had far better 3 star hotels at half the price.Anonymous

All the staff were very friendly and helpful with lots of useful advise.the location of the hotel is also excellent for exploring the gothic area of the city.the room was small but had all that you needed and was comfortable with a safe [ free of charge ] to lock away valuables.there was loads of hot water for a bath.would recommend the breakfast as it's excellent value for money with a wide choice to choose from and as it is a buffet style you can have as much as you want.The room is a bit on the small side ,however,it has everything that you need and is quite comfortable,shame they do not provide tea/coffee making facilities.our room was on the front of the hotel which if you are a light sleeper would be no good because of the level of noise from the traffic,we knew before we booked about the noise so it didn't bother us.Mrs Janet Brown

Hotel montcada was everything we had hoped for. the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. we stayed on the eighth floor with a fantastic view. we were unable to open the window without help from staff but this is due to the health and safety laws in spain, however the staff were happy to open and close the window at any time. because the hotel is centrally located in the gothic quarter, traffic noise can be a problem at night if you leave the window open so we were happy to close it and use the air conditioning so we had a peaceful night's sleep. we sampled the food in the hotel restaurant on one night and this was excellent. the chef has seasonal set menus which are very good value. the best part of the hotel is definitely the terrace on the ninth floor. if the weather is not too windy, the atmosphere is great. there's a small bar, jacuzzi, gym and lovely soft seating to relax on and take in the views. We asked the hotel to book us a taxi to the sirport for the flight home. we only had a few euros left but the hotel said it would be no more than 30 euro, however, when we got to the sirport, the taxi counter said 29 euro plus a suplemnt of 10 euro. we asked what this was for but the driver pretended to not understand us and we had no choice but to pay up. i think the best thing to do next time would be to catch a taxi from the street or from the taxi rank to the right of the hotelAnonymous
