The Alexandra Hotel Barcelona is in a good location of the city as well. It is in the center of Barcelona, between the Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Catalunya. It is only about a ten minute walk to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas.

The morning and evening staff were alright except to one of my friend's room whose sink in the bathroom was clogged.they had to make it clear to the hotel that if it is not fixed, that they should be moved to another room. the staff didn't offer that right away.

Hotel was very clean & modern & in a good location - great for shopping and a short walk to placa catalunya. as it was a 5-10 minute walk away from the main area of night-life it was also fairly quiet at night.Anonymous

The location is very good; very close to las rambla about 6 blocks up from place catalunia. the hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard and my room fittings and materials were also fresh and high qualityUnfortunately, my room - 892 - was rather small - about 40 cm between the foot of the bed and the wall. it had frosted windows in both the bathroom and bedroom and an external view of four very unimpressive walls and a tiny patch of sky some 10 metres above this. at €200 per night, this was very poor value for money. my comments below relate to the hotel and definitely not room 892!Anonymous

We booked the superior double room but the room was not up to standard seemed to be in old part of hotel not renovated part complained and staff were extremely helpful and was upgraded to a suite for no extra charge beautiful room and hotel would go back staff very helpfulFirst room not up to standard but was upgraded to a suite without any fuss Anonymous

The hotel was clean. The hotel location was not as close to las ramblas as expected. the junior suite booked was not value for money.the room was small,the view from the room terrace was a noisy side street overlooking buidings. the room service came an hour late.building work going on in reception. We arrived just before 12.00 and were informed the junior suite would not be available until 19.00 however we were upgraded immediately to a suite and were informed we could change the folowing day if we wished. we didn't. the suite was fantastic, loads of room and the jacuzzi was great if a little noisy. new tv channels made up for the lack of sun deck. the weather was fantastic and the hotel was a pleasant walk through cosmopolitan streets to the city centre. staff very friendly and although we booked out on monday at 12.00 we left our bags free of charge until 17.00.The mini bar was pricy and there were no little supermarkets of off licences close by.Anonymous

We liked the location of the hotel (just round the corner from casa mia)We were very disappointed with the hotel this visit as they were undergoing a major refurbishment and was not up to the standard that we were expecting. the breakfast room/dining room was in the basement this was ok but it was not a suitable option for an enjoyable restaurant or bar. we also had to complain about "mouldy bread" on our final morning which wasn't really exceptable. a bit disappointing on the whole as it was not as "special" as we remember it on our previous visit.Robert Game

Clean rooms and courteous staff. even though there was some building work underway, we did not hear any work "noises" after early friday afternoon and for the rest of the long weekend. the hotel was extremely clean, apart from the boardings in the reception area you would not know that building work was being undertaken.Anonymous
