The Barbara Hotel Barcelona is a great hotel choice for you. It has clean and comfortable guestrooms for you to choose from with all the modern amenities and facilities you need and want. It is also a very affordable option when compared to many other hotels in the area. There is a breakfast bar, cocktail bar and also features for those with special needs or disabilities so you are guaranteed comfort no matter what your needs are. Barbara Hotel is in a nice part of the city as well which is another bonus for anyone looking for a place to stay. You are in the heart of the city near Las Ramblas and El Raval. The hotel is within walking distance from the Gothic District, Plaza Catalunya, Montjuic, Olympic Port and Palace of Fairs and Congresses. You might also know that Barcelona has some beautiful beaches. Well, they are only about a 15 minute walk away. There are also many nearby attractions for you to visit during your leisure time while staying at the Barbara hotel. You should also know that the Barbara Hotel is a budget hotel located in El Raval, the Red Light Quarter of Barcelona next to Las Ramblas.
How to reach the hotel?Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to take the green line metro from Passeig de Gracia to Liceu station and the Hotel is 5 minutes walk from the metro stop.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Placa Catalunya and costs 3.75 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to catch the Green line metro to Liceu and the hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the metro stop.

Clear room.
The hotel is located in one of the most dangerous area of barcelona. there are lots of dealers, prostitutes and robbers surrounding the area (we arrived at 11.30 and there were plenty of them!!!). people from the next neighborhood did not recommend us to stay in there. we also heard that there were some killings recently in the area. we were quite scared, as my mum, sister and i walked towards the hotel as we had to ask for help on the way. luckily, a nice gentlemen offered help and walked us till the door. i paid 200,00 euros to simply not stay one night as there was a "48 hours notice in advance for cancellation" in the website. i did feel that my money was taken away without any sort of negotiation. very inconvenient situation. Staff are excellent and very helpfull, rooms are nice and clean and linen and towels are changed every dayThere was a slight mix up regarding the number of rooms we required but it was all sorted eventually and they charged you for a nights stay up-front at a very low euro rate!!Anonymous

The hotel is close to la rambla.The location was very close to la rambla, however, it is in a square used by prostitutes. my boyfriend found it hard to walk to the hotel at night because of the number of prostitutes trying to get his business. additionally, the room was not worth the price. there are several other hotels, hostals, and hostels in the area that would be a better choice than the hotel barbara. i do not reccommend this hotel.Anonymous

Front desk were very efficient with our check in as we had a large number in our group. the rooms were basic but everything we needed and the beds were really comfortable. the room was very clean and kept clean.the location of the hotel is perfect as it is right on las ramblas and the price is excellent for the location.the hotel is also very safe.The hotel is quite noisy (from the other rooms) but this is nothing a good night out or a set of ear plugs won't fix. there are a few prostitutes who work on the road outside the hotel. this is not a problem during the day but at late evening alot of men arrive. this caused us no problem(group of girls) but some people might not like it. none of these people come into the hotel though and the safety of the hotel is excellent. I booked this hotel for a stag party and it was perfectly suitable; clean, budget priced hostal close to the ramblasThe area is teeming with prostitutes, from morning until the early hours of the night. there are a lot of pickpockets too, which you should be aware of. i would only recommend this hotel to people who don't mind this activity on their doorstep and are just looking for a bed to sleep in and not spend much time at the hotel.Anonymous

The staff were lovely.The street it was on not safe to walk down at night as there were many people lerking about. just outside the hotel there were prositutes day and night. we never had any trouble with them but it was a shock to find when we first arrived. it made us feel unsafe.
