Description
The hotel Pelayo is a great value 1* budget hotel in an excellent central location in the city centre of Barcelona, just off the Plaza Catalonya, next to the famous Las Ramblas allowing for much of the city to be explored on foot. The hotel is surrounded by a great shopping area, many restaurants and cultural sites.
All rooms are basic but comfortable with en-suite facilities, a safe, airconditioning and television. This hotel is excellent value for money! The breakfast contains tea, coffee and cakes on a self service basis from the reception area.

The front desk staff were very helpfulI ordered a taxi to go to the airport and i was charged extra for the airport and paid from the moment the cab left the station. i wish i would of been informed of that because i would of just took one on the street. but i guess that's spain for you it always more than they say.David Johnson

The hotel is very central and cost effective. we found it was in easy reach of most of the major sights in the city.The stairs up to the rooms were quite challenging, eventhough there was a lift.
the breakfast facilities could be better.
in addition, access to the hotel during the night could be a little clearer.
one of our group had his wallet stolen by a pick pocket. please be careful when walking around the city centre, especially at night.Anonymous

This hotel is clean and haa very friendly staff. i satyed there and did not have any problems with the hotel. if anyoe is looking for a reasonable priced and a good standard hotel i would definately recommend pelayo.I feel that the breakfast should include more than tea/coffee and cereal. Anonymous

Checkin time on info was 12.00 rooms not ready. we booked 2 triples we were given a triple and a double with a bed in it. also the first nights was charged before we arrived, considering we got there at 12.30. the info on the website states checkout at 12.00 when it was 10.30. i was very disapponted this time as i have booked with you five times before and never had any trouble.Anonymous

All staffs i have met were so kind. location is so convenient. a few minutes walk from subway station and also
airport bus stop. Before grabbing the elevator, i have to walk up some steps.
also, if room number will be 200 - up, no lift is available inside the hotel. (however, room number 200 - up will be better)

A very basic hotel but nice clean rooms and very centrally located.Noisy. we had a room close to reception and there was a significant amount of noise till late at night with people coming and going. in particular the receptionist spent long periods speaking very noisily on the phone and ignored our request in the middle of the night to try and keep the volume down a bit.
"breakfast" was disappointing but we knew this was going to be the case.
without the noise issue, we would have been happy paying what we did. but given that we were unable to get a good night's sleep we were unimpressed by the cost.Mr Simon R McFaul

Our room was not ready when we arrived. the room was right beside the reception and it was quite noisy in the foyet during the night. we were told breakfast would be ready at 0600 but at 0615 we had to ask where it was.Paul Stanley

The location is excellent. the room was clean and the room service was good.What they call breakfast is not breakfast at all!!! for the paid amount of money it could have been much better! the room was very small. and also in the room one could have heard all the noise from the corridor. and one could wish the staff speak english.Anonymous
