The Hotel Regina, located right next to the Plaza de Catalunya half way between the famous Ramblas and the boutiques on the Paseo de Gracia, is a fine example of a vintage Barcelona hotel, constructed in 1917 and painstakingly refurbished in 2006. The hotel’s contemporary interior design gives pride of place to detail and comfort, embracing warm colours to create a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel is located in the city’s most privileged area, in the centre of the Eixample district where Barcelona’s two most cosmopolitan avenues begin, close to restaurants, the Cathedral, the Palau de la Música, the city’s main concert venue, and the Liceo Opera House.
The Hotel Regina is a Barcelona classic in its own right, and while it has been modernised by meticulous decoration it has not lost its essence and character in the slightest. It offers a total of 99 large and comfortable fully air-conditioned rooms on 5 floors, one of which is designated for smokers. I could not fault this hotel one bit, the room was excellent upon our arrival a cake and strawberries were in our room the 5 mins after checking in our room we were delivered a bottle of champayne, the staff were really pleasent also, i would book this hotel again Anonymous

Hotel regina was in an excellent location, and very close to the airport bus stop in placa catalunya.the photos and details on the easy to book website are extremely accurate. staff were warm and welcoming, spoke good english and responded promptly to our only minor 'complaint' - a lightbulb was replaced before we returned from a walk. i could warmly recommend hotel regina as a base for a break in barcelona.I don't think this was unique to the hotel, but there was often a really bad smell from the bathroom. this was noticeable in the city in general - a problem with ageing sewers perhaps?John Mc Ateer

My friend took ill during our stay at the weekend, and the hotel staff bent over backwards to help us; they allowed us to keep our room until our flight departure time at no additional charge and kept checking to ensure that he was well. in particular, i would like to thank rafa from the front desk who was very helpful and even helped to carry my friend into the taxi to the airport. a very positive experience.
