If you want a location in the middle of the city centre and the excitement of Barcelona then look no further. Hotel Montecarlo is situated right on "Las Ramblas", a 5 minute walk from Plaça Catalunya and the metro stop with the same name. There is a cash point right next door and a pharmacy opposite Montecarlo Barcelona.

Montecarlo hotel is a great choice in Barcelona. Right in Las Ramblas, recently categorized 4 stars (****) "Monument". Located in the center of the city. Hotel MonteCarlo is housed in what used to be a 19th century palace and was headquarters of the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona. The Hotel MonteCarlo Barcelona has got no restaurant, however we offer a buffet breakfast for 11 euros every morning in our breakfast room and there is also a bar. There is laundry service at the hotel and on site parking which costs 24 euros per night. The hotel also has a small terrace(solarium) and one meeting room decorated in a modernist style and with a maximum capacity of 23 people. There are 51 comfortable, well designed rooms. They are all air conditioned and have hydro massage baths. The beds are adjustable and have latex mattresses. The rooms are also equipped with an interactive TV, two telephone lines and free access to wireless internet.

How to reach the hotel?The metro (subway) and local trains are located at just 5 minute walking distance from the hotel as well the turistic bus and the aerobus which connects to the airport.
How to reach the hotel
By ferry:
From Barcelona cruise terminal, walk to the Drassanes underground station next to the Columbus monument on Ramblas and take L3 metro to Plaça Catalunya. The hotel is within walking distance.
By train:
From Barcelona Sants train station, take L3 underground and get off at Plaça Catalunya. The hotel is within walking distance.
By airplane:
From Barcelona-El Prat International Airport, take the line 10 train Aeroport-Barcelona-Estació de França at the RENFE train station, and after 3 stops get off at Sants. Once there, take L3 underground to Plaça Catalunya. The hotel is within walking distance.
An alternative would be to take the Aerobus bus shuttle to the center, located outside the Arrivals terminal. The Aerobus leaves every 10-15 minutes and stops at Plaça de Catalunya (the ride takes about 30 minutes). The hotel is located within walking distance.

This was a great choice of hotel for my husbands 50th birthday on which staff presented him with a bottle of champagne! ideally located for walking, sightseeing, public transport systems and the airport bus plus right beside a tourist information booth.i had gastroenteritits on the day we wwere due to leave and the hotel staff contacted a doctor, helped with finding an open pharmacy (it was a public holiday)they were brill. they also were able to identify us by name only a few hours after arriving 
We were charged for an extra night as i was unable to vacate the room by 12md as i was too ill. eventually left about 4.30 however the staff were very apologetic about this Anonymous

The hotel was peaceful and quiet, despite being on la rambla. i was concerned that my single room would be pokey but it was lovely and spacious, plus there was a separate large bathroom. the staff were pleasant and polite, and the breakfast was good, and cheaper at 11 euros than at similar hotels.
Others have said that they'd like tea and coffee making facilities in the room. this would be a plus - it does not seem to be offered by other hotels, though. BAILLIET Anne-Sophie

It was my birthday during our stay and we received a complimentary bottle of champagne that was very much appreciated.
The price quoted on your website for a deluxe room included breakfast. upon arrival at the hotel we were informed by the duty manager that we would have to pay an additional 11 euros each/day for breakfast, despite having a copy of our confirmation with us that clearly included breakfast in the price. she pointed out that we were already receiving a considerable discount on the normal price of a deluxe room that would have been charged had we booked our accommodation through the hotel's own website (to which we responded that this was the reason we had booked through easytobook.com), and she went on to say that we had no choice other than to pay for breakfast or to go elsewhere. she was very abrupt in her manner and said that easytobook.com were always making this mistake. the discussions at this stage were obviously getting very heated, and having just spent 7 hours travelling from england to barcelona for the first time, the last thing we were prepared to do was to trail around the city looking for alternative accommodation. we believed that this problem was not ours - it was between the hotel and your company - and that the hotel montecarlo should honour the booking and subsequently sort out the breakfast payment with yourselves. she then asked us to take a seat in the bar (no refreshment being offered !) while she contacted easytobook.com. after being isolated for at least 15 minutes, we returned to stand at the reception desk for a further 5 minutes before eventually being told that there would be no additional charge for breakfast and that we could check into our room. no apology whatsoever was offered.
to be treated in such a manner upon arrival at our destination was extremely upsetting and disappointing, and was something we have never experienced before. this holiday was a birthday treat and something we had really been looking forward to.
i must add, however, that once a resolution on the breakfast was reached with the duty manager our stay was very enjoyable, the hotel was lovely, and the staff (including the duty manager) were very pleasant and helpful. Anonymous
