The Olivia Plaza is the most central 4-star hotel in Barcelona. Located in the Plaza Cataluña, next to the Ramblas, in the heart of the shopping and financial district of the city. The hotel is brand new: opened its doors in February 2006!
It is the perfect choice for being a step away from the modernist Barcelona: the best museums, tourist attractions and restaurants, The hotel has an excellent communication with the main underground lines and bus routes and 10 minutes from the port and you can also walk to the beach.

Everything was great! the hotel was easy to get to from the airport,public transportation was right across the street at the plaza catalunya. right around the corner was the ramblas. the hotel staff was great, very friendly. the room was great. i would definately stay here again.Anonymous

We couldn't fault the hotel, the location was perfect on catalunya place, next to hard rock cafe (the taxi driver couldn't find it). the bus stop for the excellent euro 4.05 ride to the airport was outside. we were around the corner from las ramblas and took advantage of the cafes and tapas bars which provided excellent tariff. the rooms were very modern and smart, the bathroom area is unusual but very modern with the lastest in showers and sink designs! nice bathroom goodies, cool air-conditioning... i travel all overthe world and really loved this hotel - a gem of a find..
the breakfats looked good but i chose to eat in las ramblas. an unexpected highlight is the sun terrace at the back overlooking old city walls and church bell towers -and so quiet who would have known of our central location.. will defintaley go back and my friend is looking to change her business trips from the hilton to the olivia plaza she loved it so too.... p.s would recommend for all travellersAnonymous

On arrival, the staff was great and seeing that they had not prepared the room yet and that my wife is pregnant, they upgraded our room to a suite. the room was excellent and our stay after that was memorable. the location was a big plus since we were right at the heart of all the attractions, shopping, etc.In general the staff was very helpful with anything we needed, however, one of them was uncooperative after we complained that they hadn't booked the a restaurant for us. the mini bar was not working, but this was dealt with immediately.DENNIS JOHN WOODYER

The oliva plaza is in a very central location. we found the reception staff to be very efficient and were pleased to get an early check-in. very modern and clean. we were on the 10th floor and had a great view over the city.There didn't seem to be any information book in our room and no-one showed us how to work the air con/heating or the other facilities in the room. we asked the reception to put the heating on which they did but we still had to 'fiddle' around with the control panel to get it to the right temparature. i also think it would have been a nice "extra" to have tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
