Renovated in 2006 and located in the city centre of Barcelona, next to the Ramblas, the Gothic quarter is only 5 minutes walking and with all the major attractions are just a walk away. The hotel is also very well connected with the subway, bus to the Airport and Touristic Bus.

Located in the heart of Barcelona, just off the famous Ramblas, the hotel is surrounded by numerous museums, art, culture and nightspots. Principal Hotel Barcelona is located near the famed City Center part of Barcelona so everything you need is close by.
If you don’t know much about Barcelona, this is a great place to be, especially for tourists. You are literally right in the midst of all there is to see and do in this great city when you stay at Principal Hotel Barcelona. If you are a business traveler, the business district of the city is very close by as well so you can have all of your needs met in that area as well.
How to reach the hotel?From the Airport: the “Airport bus", leaves the terminals every 15 minutes. It is fast and comfortable with space for luggage. It takes between 25-35 minutes. The price is 3.50€ per person. Get off at Plaza Catalunya. You can take line 3 (green) of the underground and get off at LICEU, go down calle Hospital, and you will find the hotel on the first street on the left.
Taxi: Outside the airport. The approximate cost is 25-30 euros. It takes around 20-30 minutes.
Train: Leaves every 15 minutes and takes 35 minutes. Get off at Plaza Catalunya. You can take line 3 (green) of the underground and get of at LICEU. Go down calle Hospital, and you will find the hotel in the first street on the left.

Much more chic, quaint and clean than we expected. great sun terrace occupying the large meandering roof space was an unexpected joy also. excellent location to use as a base to explore the city....

It is in a brilliant location especially for first time visitors to barcelona. the room was a reasonable size and very clean. would stay there again.As some of the workers work during the night it could be seen as a bit noisy but it only lasted a couple of minutes but it didn't affect us.Anonymous
