The Gran Hotel Havana Barcelona is a first class hotel extended and upgraded to deluxe in 1991, and completely redecorated in 2002. Its location is the Casa L. Fradera, a historic building dating from 1882. On Barcelona's Gran Vía, the hotel is right in the centre of the city, only a step away from the most emblematic buildings of Gaudí, the mythical Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter.
This duality of the Gran Hotel Havana is typical of Barcelona, where tradition and the avant-garde coexist happily together. Which explains this 19th-century building with a 21st-century interior. Also how its modern concept of service is based on traditional ideas of hospitality.

How to reach the hotel?The airport is approximately 20 minutes away. If you take a taxi you will pay around 24 € including one suitcase.
If you take the airport train or bus, get off at Plaza Calatunya.
The nearest metro stations are Girona (line 3, yellow line) and Tetuan (line 4, violet line).
The nearest bus station is Estación del Nord.
By car:
From the north (Girona): If arriving by the Ap-7, look for the junction with the Ap-17 then continue towards Barcelona Centre. Continue along Calle Aragón, and when you reach Calle Bruc, turn left. The hotel parking site is located in this street, a few metres from the junction with Gran Vía, on the left.
From the south (Lleida-Tarragona): If arriving by the Ap-7, follow the directions for Barcelona-Gran Vía. You enter the city along Gran Vía and keep straight on. The hotel is on your left, two streets away from Paseo de Gracia. To leave your car at our parking site, go past the hotel and turn left at the first junction (Calle Girona), turn left (Calle Diputación), and first left again (Calle Bruc). Our parking site is located in this street, on the left, a few metres away from the junction with Gran Vía.

Hotel room was spacious clean and comfortable - hotel was excellently located for las ramblas and the barri gothic and a good bar for a night cap in the evening. Disappointed that breakfast was not included in the rate - also the room was exceptionally warm - my wife and i were kept awake a couple of nights by the heat (and this was in march).Leigh Newton

The hotel is very central, the building is an impressive design. although our hotel room was quite small it was very clean with nice modern furnishings.Having read other reviews i was anxious about noise that was noted from rooms on lower levels so i requested a room on the 6th floor prior to my stay and received room 125 which i thought i'd give a try. unfortunately we were woken up each morning at 7am by what sounded like the maid/cleaner making continous noise with their cleaning buckets! this lasted for about hour & half each morning. i think the price of the hotel is very high, the third night at 180 euros should have included the pricey breakfast, at least. Only 10 minute walk from las rambas. Swimming pool was closed for repairs, no in house iron, so you were charged for a simply laundry service. next to noise road.Shaun Mccarthy

The hotel gran havanna is a really lovely hotel,our room was clean when we arrived and the staff were very helpful.the location of the hotel is really central and within walking distance of shops and amenities and the metro train station.i would definately recommend this hotel and would have no hesitation in staying there in the future.If you are a light sleeper on the lower floor,you can hear the metro trains running underground.apart from that not any other negatives to add.Anonymous

The staff were very friendly & spoke excellent english, the rooms were immaculate. hotel was very central & within easy walking distance to sites, shops, bars & restaurants. Tram noise might be a problem if on lower floors but not on upper levels. the rooms were smaller than appeared on website
